Antique Howe sewing machine on original cast iron base. Top of rear brass cover plate reads: 203994 - serial number dates to 1871.And below that, Patented Sept 10, 1840 Aug 24, 1858 April 2, 1867. Its underside is stamped: WH OHLER PORTLAND ME 78912. On the underside of the front brass cover plate is stamped HW FLETCHER 5 25 85. Appears to be mother of pearl inlay on cast iron top.
Cabinet coffin top, flat surface, and side drawer are all walnut - both solids and veneer. When I turn the pulley on underside of machine the needle moves up and down - appears to be correct and smooth movement. Medallion on top is of Elias Howe Jr Inventor Maker New York USA.Can be delivered to North Shore Mass.
