1961 Singer Featherweight Tan 221J Sewing Machine Machine is Serial Number: ES 877929 Circa 1961. Machine has been oiled/lubricated and is in smooth working order. I wound a bobbin and it worked flawlessly. I threaded and stitched a few rows for you to see. Mind you, it likely will need some adjusting of the tension and stitch length/width.
If you've never owned a Featherweight Machine before, note that the flat edge on needle inserts to the LEFT; not to the back like on modern machines. Please be sure to refer to the (Included Instruction Booklet) and get yourself acquainted with the minor differences. Machine exhibits a few dings here and there to the finish, but overall is in wonderful cosmetic condition. I found a very small slit in the cord so electrical tape was put over that area. Comes with a two tone colored carrying case.Case lid has an interior bracket that stores the foot control. There's also a small compartment that hold the accessory box, etc. T he case exhibits a bit of wear; but is sound and sturdy! The Bobbins and Bobbin Case are the original vintage featherweight. Bobbin case is marked: Simanco 45750 (Also proving orignal Featherweight).
