VERY RARE COLLECTIBLE ANTIQUE SEWING MACHINE. Early 1860s Civil War Era. Shaw & Clark "Open Tower" or "Open Pillar" Sewing Machine. This Shaw & Clark model is known as the "Open Tower" or "Open Pillar".
It was produced in the early 1860s and pre-dates the similar "closed tower" or "closed pillar" machine. This antique machine is in good condition.
Mechanical parts have been oiled and run smoothly. One foot has been repaired. From what I can tell, the machine is missing the spool pin and brass name plate.
