The 222K Free-Arm Featherweight is considered one of the most highly collectible and desirable Singer Sewing Machines. Approximately 100,000 222K Featherweights were made worldwide and is one of the best sewing machines ever made. Sometimes referred to as the 221 Free-Arm. The Singer Featherweight model 222K was only made at the Singer Companys Kilbowie plant in Scotland.The production line there ran from 1953 until 1961. The 222 and the 221 are identical BUT with two additional features.
It is a convertible Flat Bed AND a Free Arm - Tubular Bed. It has a Sew / Darn Lever which allows t. He feed dogs to be easily lowered, allowing free-motion embroidery and darning work.
